Who’s the Red Head?

I’m a 23 year old that is just starting law school and trying to find a balance between studying and healthy living.

I’ve been a casual runner for years but my senior year I truly fell in love with running.  Before, I ran to burn calories. My senior year I began to run because it made me feel free and left me happy, refreshed and clear headed.  It started with my roommate asking me to run a half marathon with her. She was a REAL runner, running on our college’s cross country team and competing in countless races.  Needless to say, I was pretty intimidated by the whole thing since I had never run farther then 4 miles. Toward the end of my first 8 mile run, I could barely lift my legs and my roommate was literally running circles around me, telling me what a great job I was doing. But the thing was, even though I didn’t think I could do it, I finished. Then, I was hooked.

Training for my first half marathon was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and has changed me for that better.  Every weekend I ran farther then I ever thought I could. I got bigger blisteres then I knew possible and my hip began to throb each time my foot hit the pavement. I loved it. I loved pushing myself farther then I ever thought I could and seeing real progress toward a goal I had never dreamed of setting. And the day I got to the starting line of the St. Jude half marathon I was exilerated with how far I had come. The second I finished, I wanted to sign up for another one.

It’s my love of running that has started my love for cooking.  I started looking for the nutrition that would help me run my best and slowly found myself looking up recipes instead of writing papers.

Living with my boyfriend has made me discover just how much I love cooking and coming up with unique, healthy and economical recipes. This blog is a way to keep track of our favorite meals.

Join me in my journey through law school – trying to find time to cook, spend time with my boyfriend (and Toby!), run, and stay on top of my work load.
